artworks by  Rebecca Callis

Rebecca Callis was born in 1971 in Kendal, England. An early enjoyment of “garden clay”, enthusiastic introduction at primary school, and a strong technical instruction at secondary school, created in Rebecca a close empathy with her medium.

In 1990 she attended The Glasgow School of Art, specializing in Ceramics and graduating with a BA (Hons) Design in 1994. Since setting up her first studio in Cumbria in 1995, Rebecca has enjoyed appreciation throughout the UK as well as abroad, and is now resident potter at Farfield Mill, Sedbergh in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Included in the Crafts Council touring exhibition ‘Table Manners’, Rebecca is one of Britain’s devoted contemporary tableware makers.
