Sandy Murphy RSW RGI PAI lives in Ayrshire and makes frequent trips to paint in Dumfries and Gallloway.
He studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1976 to 1980, where he was a pupil of Robertson, Shanks and Rae. He then completed a teacher training course and worked as a teacher until 1985 when he became a full time artist.
Sandy paints richly textured oils. His intimate, carefully considered works represent the best of Scottish painting.
