artworks by  David Palmer

For a number of years I have found inspiration in simple everyday objects, in particular, the jug. The jug has been a recurring theme in my work for some time. I enjoy trying to capture their expressions, personalities, moods and emotions as if drawing a portrait. I am intrigued by the shadows cast by, or on objects that reveal a sense of place and time. My chosen medium is etching which allows me to create rich textures and atmospheric tones through scraping, polishing and re-etching to create the desired effect.
